The five-pound Hershey bar awarded to Southern Columbia Friday afternoon at Hersheypark Stadium for winning the PIAA Class-4A title was sweet, but Penn State head coach James Franklin’s ride to Hersheypark Stadium might have been just a bit sweeter.
Franklin and safeties coach Anthony Poindexter flew into Hershey, Pennsylvania Friday afternoon, landing their helicopter just outside the stadium before watching a bit of the contest between Southern Columbia and Serra Catholic.

Southern Columbia star Gavin Garcia (2022 running back going to Kent State) racked up 162 yards and three touchdowns in a 62-35 win, and there was plenty of star power spread across both squads. 2023 running back Braeden Wisloski has received Division I interest, and 2023 teammate Wes Barnes is a dual-athlete star.
Serra Catholic star Pharoh Fisher (2022 athlete) received a PWO offer from Michigan recently, and 2022 teammates Terrell Booth and Javyon Holt have received strong Division II interest — including schools in Pennsylvania’s PSAC.
Penn State offered 2024 defensive back Cameron Lindsey after Aliquippa’s PIAA Class-4A title Thursday night, and his teammate Tiqwai Hayes (2025 running back) received a Penn State offer a week ago. While 2022 three-star commit Keon Wylie plays for Imhotep Friday night in the PIAA Class-5A title game.
