Penn State now knows when it will take the field for one of the biggest road tests on its 2026 schedule.
The Nittany Lions’ October 17 matchup against Michigan at Michigan Stadium will kick off at 3:30 p.m. (Eastern) in Ann Arbor.
The game will mark the 28th all-time meeting between Penn State and Michigan and the first between the programs since 2023. Michigan owns a 17-10 advantage in the series, which began when Penn State joined the Big Ten in 1993. Â
Trips to the Big House have presented an even greater challenge for the Nittany Lions. Penn State is 4-10 all-time at Michigan Stadium, with victories coming in 1994, 1996, 2009 and 2020. Â
That 2020 meeting remains Penn State’s most recent victory over the Wolverines — both overall and in Ann Arbor.
Penn State entered that game 0-5 during the COVID-shortened season but left Michigan Stadium with a 27-17 victory. Sean Clifford’s 28-yard touchdown run gave the Nittany Lions a lead they would not relinquish, while Keyvone Lee rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown. The victory was Penn State’s first in Ann Arbor since a 35-10 win in 2009. Â
Michigan has won the three meetings since, including a 41-17 victory in Ann Arbor in 2022.
The October 17 matchup also serves as Michigan’s Homecoming game. The Wolverines will enter the contest coming off an open week, while Penn State hosts USC on October 10 before making the trip to Ann Arbor.
