UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State is hopeful that defensive tackle Armstrong Nnodim will be a go tonight as they have upgraded Nnodim to a game time decision in the final Big Ten game day report.
His potential availability becomes particularly important after Northwestern gashed Penn State for 413 rushing yards in last Friday’s 34-13 defeat.
This season, Nnodim has participated in 77 snaps this season with an emphasis being rotated in on known running plays.
Of Nnodim’s 77 snaps participated in, he has been on run defense assignments on 43 of them (55.8%) this season.
Nnodim has registered eight tackles (2 solo), with a tackle for loss and a quarterback pressure this season.
The major news yesterday was linebacker Alex Tatsch being ruled out during the Friday Availability Report.
The sophomore has appeared in four games this season, recording 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble. His emergence has provided valuable depth behind Tony Rojas.
With Cam Smith also unavailable, Penn State will have fewer options to rotate at linebacker against the Trojans.
