Some of Penn State’s most recognizable head coaches all have one thing in common: They have a meal named after them in Happy Valley.
The Field Burger and Tap is a famous restaurant in State College known for honoring the leaders of PSU’s programs.
Next up to create their own burger? New football coach Matt Campbell.
Penn State teased the “Coach Campbell Burger” earlier this week, including a sneak peek of Campbell eating his own creation.
Named “Coaches Corner,” The Field Burger and Tap invites Penn State fans to order “a signature burger creation made by our amazing Coaches.
James Franklin formerly had a burger at the restaurant, with the tradition passed down to Campbell.
Men’s hockey coach Guy Gadowsky, women’s volleyball coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley, women’s soccer coach Erica Dambach, and women’s basketball coach Carolyn Kieger all have burger options at The Field.
“The Big Gadowsky” includes Eleven Oaks Wagyu, Lancaster bacon, cheddar, sautéed onions, pierogies, and sour cream.
“Coach Katie’s Craft” is a burger with BBQ sauce, pepper jack cheese, an onion ring, arugula, and a tomato on a brioche roll.
It shouldn’t be long until it’s revealed what creation Campbell has come up with for Penn State fans to try. 🍽️
