When Penn State takes the field for the 2025 White Out against Oregon, the eyes of the nation will be on Drew Allar.
It’s Allar’s time to shine for Penn State with 110,000+ strong inside Beaver Stadium.
Allar bypassed the Draft and returned to school following a consequential interception in the final moments of the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup against Notre Dame.
Allar announced his intention to return before the playoffs and confirmed the decision after Penn State’s run. He credits James Franklin for part of his decision and touted high praise for his coach.
“I think we have the best head coach in the country,” Allar said. “He’s a big reason why I came back.”
He also cited Penn State’s “unfinished business” and the program’s goal to win a national championship for the first time in 39 years.
“I choose to come back for unfinished business and to play another year under Coach Franklin,” Allar said. “He’s a part of the reason why I came here in the first place.”
The rubber meets the road on Saturday night as No. 3 Penn State hosts No. 6 Oregon on NBC.
In three starts, Allar owns a 65% completion rate, 626 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.
Penn State needs its senior quarterback to play one of the best games of his career against the Ducks. Allar has struggled in big games against Ohio State and Michigan and turned the ball over twice against Oregon in the Big Ten Championship Game.
What does Allar do to respond to the critics? One way or another, we will have some answered questions when the State College clock strikes midnight.
