Penn State QB Drew Allar might have just started his fashion career.
Wednesday morning, Variety reported that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is collaborating with American Eagle for a collection that he’s kept a secret “for nearly a year.”
“It was an awesome opportunity to team up with an established brand where both sides were excited to truly collaborate on every decision in the design and creative process,” Kelce told Variety.
By the way, Kelce is now engaged to Taylor Swift.
Allar is pictured with tennis star and influencer Anna Frey, UConn women’s basketball player Azzi Fudd, Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith, Syracuse men’s basketball player Kiyan Anthony and Gold Medal-winning Gymnast Suni Lee.
“The line represents more than 90 pieces priced between $14.95 and $179.95, and were made to “evoke Travis’ unique style, delivering an elevated take on everyday essentials and transforming classic silhouettes into bold statements of confidence and individuality.” Cricket sweaters, rugby polos and utility cargo pants are on the menu,” Variety wrote.
Allar talked about the opportunity with reporters via Zoom Wednesday.
“That whole crew reached out to my agency, and it was an opportunity that I wanted to take advantage of. It was a great experience. I had a great time meeting all the people involved in that and really getting to see the whole behind-the-scenes sort of thing. It was really cool to be part of a project like that, and I’m really excited to be part of all the things it will bring for sure. It was a blessing to be a part of that, and I’m very grateful to Travis Kelce and that whole crew for inviting me out there to be a part of that.
Allar’s main focus is obviously on football. He quarterbacks the No. 2 team in the country and came back to do what Penn State couldn’t quite do last season: Win a national championship.
Penn State plays the first of what it hopes will be the maximum 17 games Saturday against Nevada at 3:30 on CBS. Allar could have been a high first-round pick last season, but decided to come back. With a big year this season, he could well go No. 1.
