Saquon Barkley’s year of history continues.

After becoming the ninth running back in NFL history to surpass 2,000 yards in a season, the former Penn State star running back will break the bank.

According to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter, Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a two-year, $41.2 million extension.

Barkley becomes the highest-paid running back in pro football history and the first to earn $20 million in a season.

Schefter reported the contract includes $36 million of the $41.2 million guaranteed, and Barkley could earn another $15 million if he reaches incentives.

Barkley, 28, signed a three-year, $37.8 million deal with Philadelphia in free agency following six seasons in New York playing for the Giants.

A happy Barkley reacted to the announcement on social media with joy and thankfulness to Philly, “Overflow! Grateful for the Eagles Organization , grateful for my team,  grateful for the amazing fans in Philly. Fly Eagles Fly 🦅”

He led the NFL in rushing attempts (345), rushing yards (2,005), and yards per game (125.3), plus 499 yards and five touchdowns in the playoffs en route to winning the Super Bowl.

The Eagles dominated Kansas City, 40-22, despite Barkley only running for 57 yards. Barkley became a folk hero in Philly and became an instant favorite upon leaving the Giants.

Barkley won Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2016 as the Nittany Lions won the conference championship, earned an All-American selection in 2017, and placed 4th in Heisman voting before declaring for the 2018 NFL Draft.

He totaled 3,843 rushing yards, 1,195 receiving yards, and 51 total touchdowns from scrimmage at PSU from 2015-2017 with the Nittany Lions.
