Penn State basketball has offered class of 2028 shooting guard Colton Hiller, the 6-foot-5 freshman announced on X.

Hiller attends Coatesville Area High School in Pennsylvania and plays for the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL Circuit. Just reaching the end of his freshman season, Hiller already has two other offers from Kansas State and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

He has picked up recent traction because of his size, shooting ability, and his maturity for his age. 247Sports’ Dushawn London spoke with Hiller’s head coach, John Allen, about the trajectory of the 14-year-old.

“He’s mature beyond his age,” Allen said. “He’s only 14 years old but his game is much older. He puts in the work and constantly gets up extra shots with his dad. It’s hard work and maturity that has separated him early on.

“Everything is in front of him with his size and the way he shoots the ball. He always figures things out and he’s getting to the point where he’s thinking two steps ahead of everyone. He’s using his shot to do other things. He wants to go to the NBA and that’s everyone’s goal but he’s on that trajectory if he keeps working.”

Mike Rhoades continues to seek out talent for the future, as he and his staff have extended offers to class of 2026 members Alexander Egbuonu and Sinan Huan.

In November, Rhoades signed the highest-rated recruiting class in Penn State history. Headlining the list of signees was four-star Kayden Mingo from Long Island Lutheran. Mingo was joined by fellow four-star Mason Blackwood and three-star Justin Houser.

Penn State (13-11, 3-10) is set to take on USC on Tuesday (9 p.m. EST, BTN) to conclude its West Coast trip.
