Egbuonu is a 6-foot-5 small forward from Larence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts. Heโs the No. 3 recruit in Massachusetts and the No. 134 recruit in the class of 2026.
In December, Egbuonu also received offers from Arizona State and Boston College. According to 247Sports, his list includes offers from Albany, Auburn, Bryant, George Washington and Marquette.
Egbuonu is the second player Penn State has offered in the class of 2026, joining Sinan Huan, the No. 92 prospect.
In only his second year, Rhoades has made strides in recruiting. Most recently, he signed the highest-rated class in Penn State history, featuring the best recruit ever to join the Nittany Lions, Kayden Mingo.

Mingo was joined by fellow four-star Mason Blackwood and three-star 7-footer Justin Houser.
Before the 2024-25 season, Rhoades signed Miles Goodman, another top-100 recruit and the third-highest overall signee in the programโs history. Goodman has been sidelined with injury this year and is yet to make his debut. The former four-star recruit has been making progress and could be making his debut soon.
Penn State is 10-2 overall this season and 1-1 in the Big Ten, coming off a win over Drexel in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. Penn State will have one more nonconference game before Big Ten play picks up in the new year.
