Penn State football’s Nov. 2 game against Ohio State at Beaver Stadium could be a top five showdown but Penn State must first beat Wisconsin.

Not too long ago, this looked to be a lost season in Madison.

Wisconsin was 2-2 with both losses being by three or more scores.

Additionally, quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, who transferred from Miami over the offseason, suffered a season-ending injury. But Wisconsin has since regrouped to get to 5-2. Although Rutgers, Purdue and Northwestern aren’t exactly a Murderers Row, beating three Big Ten teams by a combined 117-16 is never anything to sneeze at.

Penn State knows it will be in a battle, and a receiver who hasn’t put up big numbers in a while could help the cause.

WATCH FOR WALLACE

Harrison Wallace III caught five passes for 117 yards Week 1 at West Virginia Aug. 31. He hasn’t approached those numbers since.

Harrison Wallace III has been quiet on the field for a while. All offseason, he was thought of as Penn State’s No. 1 receiver, and he put up No. 1 numbers in the team’s season-opening 34-12 win at West Virginia.  In just one half, he caught five passes for 117 yards and two scores. Since then, he’s failed to eclipse 53 yards and doesn’t have a touchdown. He might be due to break out again, and it would be a big boost for Penn State if Wallace starts the second half in the regular season the same way he did the first.
