Penn State All 105: Tyler Holzworth Adds Depth to RB Room

Penn State will have another nighttime White Out.
Penn State announced their second-largest crowd in Beaver Stadium history with 110,830.

All 105 is a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State football player, and this edition will take a look at walk-on RB Tyler Holzworth.

Height: 6-feet

Weight: 221 pounds

Hometown: Milford, New Jersey

Before Penn State: Holzworth redshirted his freshman season at Delaware Valley University, and the team won the 2021 Middle Atlantic Championship.

Before Delaware Valley, Holzworth was a two-time team captain at Delaware Valley Regional High School, earning first-team all-area honors as a senior, scoring 14 total touchdowns on offense and running two interceptions back for scores as well.

He transferred to Penn State after the 2021 season, earning a “run-on” spot.

2022: Holzworth was an academic all-Big Ten selection. He played in four games, mainly on special teams, running for 19 yards on six carries and catching two passes for 16 yards. Penn State’s coaching staff named him the Developmental Squad’s Special Teams Player of the Week ahead of the team’s home opener against Ohio Week 2, and earned the same honor for offense ahead of the Northwestern game.

2023: Holzworth appeared in two games, rushing for four yards against Delaware.

Where he stands: Holzworth will have a hard time getting a lot of reps in a backfield headed by Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, but his leadership qualities and effort on the practice field will be invaluable.
