Brown appeared in 27 of Penn State’s 31 games this season under first-year coach Mike Rhoades, who PSU hired after Shrewsberry left for Notre Dame last March.
In those 27 games, Brown averaged four points and a little more than 10 minutes. He reached double figures three times, with all three coming in Big Ten games– at Purdue and Indiana and at home against Illinois. The Indiana and Illinois games were particularly notable. At Indiana, he scored 14 points and made four of five 3-pointers, helping Penn State to its first win at Assembly Hall in more than a decade. Against Illinois, he scored 11, with the last three coming on a trey that ignited a rally that climaxed in Penn State coming back from seven down with 37 seconds left to pull the upset in Rec Hall.
Three-pointers are quite possibly the best part of Brown’s game. He shot just under 32 percent from beyond the arc this past season.
Brown was a member of Penn State’s most recent NCAA Tournament team in 2022-23. He played in 14 games, the last of which taking place in Penn State’s first-round win over Texas A&M.
He’s the fifth player to enter the transfer portal since it opened Monday, joining Bragi Gudmundsson, Favour Aire, Kanye Clary and Demetrius Lilley
Wherever Brown ends up, he’ll have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
