Postgame Reaction from Penn State’s win at Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, MD– Penn State needed to get a win Saturday night at Maryland.

It didn’t matter how pretty or ugly it was. All the mattered was that the Nittany Lions broke their three-game losing streak.

They did that with a 31-14 victory over the Terrapins. Penn State now is officially bowl-eligible.

Penn State struggled in the first half, scoring just seven points, but thanks to the senior connection of quarterback Sean Clifford and receiver Jahan Dotson, the Nittany Lions’ offense scored 17, and added another score on Ji’Ayir Brown’s pick-six.

Clifford was elated about the offense’s improvement in the second half.

“That’s probably why I’m so proud of my team,” Clifford said. “We didn’t let that get to us. We responded  right away. Came back out in the second half and made the plays when they were there.”
