Penn State’s fourth all-time leading rusher is on his way to the National Football League.
Running back Nicholas Singleton has been selected by the Tennessee Titans in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
A four-year starter for the Nittany Lions and one of the most successful backs in program history, Singleton finished his career with 3,461 rushing yards in 53 games.
Singleton broke his 5th metatarsal in his right foot while participating in Senior Bowl practice on January 29.
He missed the remaining festivities and Senior Bowl game in Mobile, Alabama to rest and recover.
Singleton and backfield-mate Kaytron Allen, PSU’s all-time leading rusher (4,180 yards), were one of the best 1-2 punches in college football.
Similar to many players who returned to Penn State looking to win a national championship, Singleton’s stock fell with the team’s 7-6 season.
Singleton ran for over 1,000 yards as a freshman and junior, but averaged a career-low 4.5 yards per carry last year.
He carried the football 123 times for 549 yards and 13 touchdowns as Allen received the lion share of carries.
Singleton averaged 5.6 yards per carry in four years as a Nittany Lion and rushed for 45 touchdowns. One of the best receiving backs in the sport, Singleton caught 102 passes for 987 yards and nine touchdowns in four seasons.
The 2026 NFL Draft began on Thursday night in Pittsburgh and concludes on Saturday.
