Penn State senior tight end Benjamin Brahmer continues to collect preseason recognition ahead of the 2026 season, earning a spot on the Lombardi Award Watch List.
The Lombardi Award, established in 1970 in honor of legendary Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi, recognizes the nation’s top linemen, tight ends and linebackers who exemplify leadership, courage, performance and discipline both on and off the field.
Brahmer has quickly become one of the most decorated tight ends in college football entering his first season with the Nittany Lions. Earlier this preseason, he was also named to the John Mackey Award Watch List after a standout career at Iowa State.
The 6-foot-7, 250-pound Pierce, Nebraska native earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2025 and was a John Mackey Award semifinalist. He also received honorable mention All-Big 12 recognition in both 2023 and 2024 while earning Freshman All-America accolades from The Athletic and 247Sports during his collegiate debut.

Click here to add us.Across 33 career games with the Cyclones, including 14 starts, Brahmer totaled 75 receptions for 977 yards and nine touchdowns. He ranks sixth in Iowa State history among tight ends in career receptions and fifth in receiving yards.
Last season, Brahmer hauled in 37 passes for 446 yards and six touchdowns, tying for sixth among all FBS tight ends in touchdown receptions. His ability to stretch the field was equally impressive, as his 15 receptions of at least 15 yards ranked tied for fifth nationally among tight ends helping Brahmer to become a John Mackey Award semifinalist.
No. 17 Penn State will open the Matt Campbell era on September 5 against Marshall at 3:30 PM (Eastern) from Beaver Stadium.
