Penn State junior offensive lineman Cooper Cousins has been named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, recognizing college football players who combine excellence on the field with leadership, academics and community service.
The honor comes just weeks after Cousins was selected as an Allstate AFCA Good Works Team nominee, further highlighting his impact beyond football.
Cousins’ commitment to serving others has been exemplified through his relationship with 10-year-old Gannon Kupko Jr. via Team IMPACT, the organization that connects children facing serious illnesses with college athletic programs. Born 12 weeks premature and weighing just 13 ounces, Gannon continues daily chemotherapy treatments for immune dysfunction and has become a beloved member of the Nittany Lion football family.
Last spring, Cousins represented Team IMPACT at the organization’s 2025 Game Day Gala, speaking before more than 1,000 attendees at an event that raised more than $3.3 million. Addressing children like Gannon, Cousins said, “You inspire us to work harder, love deeper, and laugh a little louder. You’re not just part of the team—you are the team.”
