Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton is a full go one week before the 2026 NFL Draft.
PSU’s fourth all-time leading rusher (3,461 yards) has been medically cleared and resumed running following an injury suffered during the draft process, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Singleton broke his 5th metatarsal in his right foot while participating in practice at the Senior Bowl on January 29.
He missed the remaining festivities and Senior Bowl game in Mobile, Alabama to rest and recover.
Singleton, 22, was a dependable and durable four-year starter with the Nittany Lions.
In 53 career games, his 3,461 yards were paired with his backfield-mate Kaytron Allen (4,180) as one of the best 1-2 punches in college football.
Singleton ran for over 1,000 yards as a freshman and junior, but averaged a career-low 4.5 yards per carry as a senior. He rushed 123 times for 549 yards and 13 touchdowns as Allen received the lion share of carries.
Singleton averaged 5.6 yards per carry in his Penn State career and rushed for 45 touchdowns. One of the best receiving backs in the sport, Singleton caught 102 passes for 987 yards and nine touchdowns in four seasons.
Schefter said that Singleton projects to be a mid-round pick next week. Singleton and Allen join Drew Allar, Vega Ioane, Zakee Wheatley, Dani Dennis-Sutton, and others in a veteran-heavy class for Penn State.
The 2026 NFL draft will be held just under two and a half hours away in Pittsburgh from Thursday, April 23 to Saturday, April 25.
