Penn State Quarterback Drew Allar Drafted by Pittsburgh Steelers

Penn State quarterback Drew Allar’s professional football career is about to begin.

Allar heard his name called by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 14th pick in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

It’s longer than Allar may have waited in 2025 if he decided to declare early, but opted to return to State College for his senior season.

Allar suffered a season-ending ankle injury against Northwestern and missed the second half of 2025,

The Nittany Lions started 3-0, but proceeded to lose their next three games (the last against Northwestern) and head coach James Franklin was fired.

Allar rehabbed his ankle throughout the season. He was capable of throwing in front of GM’s, coaches, and scouts at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Allar guided Penn State to two playoff wins in 2024 appearances in the Peach Bowl and Orange Bowl, and a Fiesta Bowl championship.

The 2026 NFL Draft concludes with the fourth through seventh rounds on April 25 from Pittsburgh.
