The 2026 US Open Wrestling Championships are set for April 21-26 and once again will stand as one of the most important domestic events on the wrestling calendar.

Every year, the US Open draws many of the nation’s best wrestlers and serves as one of the most important benchmarks on the domestic calendar. It is where established stars reinforce their standing, emerging contenders test themselves against elite opposition and athletes with international ambitions begin to separate themselves from the field.

The stakes are especially high in 2026. In Greco-Roman, the tournament will function as the World Team Trials event, giving every bracket immediate international significance. In men’s and women’s freestyle, champions will earn automatic spots at Final X, placing them one step away from securing a berth on Team USA.

That gives the US Open major weight beyond a traditional national tournament. It is one of the clearest launching points toward the international season and a pivotal opportunity for wrestlers to make a statement against top-tier competition.

Below is a look at the listed entries:

Senior Freestyle

57 kg — Luke Lilledahl (125.7 lbs)

61 kg — Marcus Blaze (134.5 lbs)

65 kg — Nate Desmond, Kyison Garcia (143.3 lbs)

70 kg — Tyler Kasak, Connor Pierce (154.3 lbs)
