A four-star recruit at quarterback, freshman Peyton Falzone looks the part at 6-foot-5 and 216 pounds. The Nazareth, Pa. native played just four games during his senior season, throwing for 1,176 yards and 12 touchdowns before an injury cut his campaign short; he added 216 yards and found the end zone another six times on the ground, a dual threat quarterback who also lettered in track and field and swim, qualifying for states in the 300 meter hurdles.
While some recruiting services rated Falzone as a three-star, both ESPN and On3 agreed that he belonged within the top 300 recruits in his class. That helped him earn offers from a flurry of Power Four programs. Falzone initially committed to Auburn before deciding to remain in Pennsylvania, committing to Penn State in December 2025 as part of head coach Matt Campbell’s first wave of recruits.
Falzone won’t see significant snaps for at least another season — Iowa State transfer Rocco Becht is penciled in to start — but if he can get his feet wet in the fourth quarter of games already decided, Penn State fans could get to know their potential quarterback of the future.

High School Career: Falzone racked up 5,840 yards and 56 touchdowns through the air over his last three years in high school; he added 1,399 rushing yards and 25 rushing touchdowns. A tri-sport athlete, Falzone made the state championships for the 300 meter hurdles and also participated on the swim team.

Where he stands: Falzone is one of six quarterbacks on the Nittany Lions roster. Rocco Becht, who followed Matt Campbell from Iowa State, is almost certain to start.Â
Most incoming college athletes take a redshirt year regardless of position — especially at quarterback, where there are only so many snaps to go around — but if Falzone can start to separate himself from the rest of the pack now, that will bode well for his trajectory in the coming seasons.
