Seeding: Penn State Wrestling Dominates Big Ten Field

The Big Ten Conference announced the preliminary seeds for the 2025-2026 Big Ten Wrestling Championships to be held in the Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State this weekend.

No. 1 Penn State leads the field with six No. 1 seeds: Luke Lilledahl (125), Marcus Blaze (133), Shayne Van Ness (149), Mitchell Mesenbrink (165), Rocco Welsh (184) and Josh Barr (197).

Other top seeds include University of Nebraska wrestlers Antrell Taylor (157) and Christopher Minto (174), Ohio State’s Jesse Mendez (141) and Michigan heavyweight Taye Ghadiali (285).

The tournament features five returning Big Ten individual champions from last year and four wrestlers who captured NCAA individual titles last season. The conference also boasts the nation’s top-ranked wrestlers in nine of the 10 weight classes, underscoring the event’s national significance.
