Penn State men’s basketball’s lone signed commitment so far is Jamison “Jamo” White, and the Nittany Lions have secured a very solid player.

The 6-foot-8, 215-pound power forward from East St. Louis, Illinois, is having a tremendous senior season at East St. Louis Senior High School.

The four-star signee is currently averaging 20.5 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game for the Flyers.

He is also one of the finalists for the 2026 Prep Hoops Illinois Player of the Year award.

White was recently selected to participate in the prestigious Allen Iverson 24K Showcase, a premier high school all-star game held in Hampton, Virginia, at the Allen Iverson Gymnasium inside Bethel High School. The event will take place on April 30, 2026.

White has helped lead the East St. Louis Flyers to a 26–4 overall record and an 11–1 mark in the Southwestern Conference.

His best performances this season include a 36-point outing against Miller Career Academy and a dominant showing against Alton High School in which he recorded 23 points, 17 rebounds, five blocks, and a career-high four assists.

“Jamo” had this to say about Penn State:

“I chose Penn State because of the trust and connection I’ve built with the coaching staff. From day one, they’ve made it clear that Penn State is a place where players are developed on and off the court. The program’s tradition, work ethic, and family atmosphere align perfectly with my values and goals. I know the opportunity here will push me to reach my full potential as both a player and a person.”

With senior forward Josh Reed graduating after this season, White will have an excellent opportunity to help fill the void. Reed is currently averaging 27.5 minutes, 11.2 points, and 4.1 rebounds per game.

White will also join a young, ultra-talented nucleus of Nittany Lions who have gained valuable playing experience this season.

The East St. Louis Flyers’ next game is against the Waterloo Bulldogs on February 25 at 6 p.m.
