Tickets: Penn State-Purdue Prices Dropping

Beaver Stadium will look different for Penn State fans this season.

Those who want tickets for Penn State-Purdue Oct. 31 won’t need to break the bank to do it.

Per StubHub, fans can get into Beaver Stadium for as low as $14, including fees.

This represents a 28% price decrease from last week, before Penn State’s loss at Michigan.

That loss dropped PSU to 3-4 overall and 0-4 in the Big Ten, with the team’s last win coming more than a month ago against Buffalo. PSU’s three wins this season are over Marshall, Temple and Buffalo, so not only is the team looking for its first Big Ten win, it doesn’t yet have a Power 4 victory, either. When these things happen, ticket prices get lower, and although there are plenty of factors for prices being what they are, it’s hard to argue that the team’s performance isn’t a factor.

Ticket prices for the White Out against USC Oct. 10 were significantly lower than they had been in previous years, although to be fair, Penn State certainty didn’t end up lacking fan support for that one.

It also must be noted that Purdue is hardly a marquee opponent, and it will take more than wins over Illinois and Minnesota to have Boiler fans not thinking about basketball come Halloween.

Both teams have byes this weekend, so both will come in  3-4, with Purdue two games ahead of PSU in the Big Ten standings (2-2).

The game will also have an unconventional 4:15 kickoff time and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Penn State needs a win to stop the bleeding.
