Kaytron Allen has been awarded by the conference for the second week in a row.
On Monday, Allen was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week after breaking the Penn State all-time rushing record.
Allen ran for 160 yards and two touchdowns in Penn State’s 37-10 victory over Nebraska. Allen averaged 6.4 yards per carry and is having the best season of his career.
He surpassed Evan Royster to become the program’s all-time leading rusher with 3,954 yards.
The game also marked the second season Allen has surpassed 1,000 yards. In 11 games, Allen has rushed for 1,077 yards (5.7 AVG), 14 touchdowns, and is averaging nearly 98 yards per game.
Allen has won the award for the second week in a row and shares it with Northwestern quarterback Preston Stone.
In his last two games, Allen owns 50 rushes for 341 yards and four touchdowns. He ran for 181 yards and two scores against Michigan State two weeks ago and has slotted PSU one win away from bowl eligibility.
Allen had a game to remember on senior night with Nick Singleton in their final games in the backfield together at Beaver Stadium. It was a chance to reflect on four historic seasons with wins in the Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl, plus trips to the Peach Bowl and Orange Bowl, while also being a chance to say goodbye.
Penn State plays Rutgers this Saturday in New Jersey at 3:30 p.m. The Nittany Lions are 13.5-point favorites and the 5-6 team that wins will go to a bowl game this December.
