Kaytron Allen stands alone at the top of the Penn State rushing ranks.
The four-year starter, paired with Nick Singleton (fifth all-time), made history on Saturday against Nebraska.
Allen ran for 160 yards and two touchdowns in Penn State’s 37-10 win against the Cornhuskers at Beaver Stadium. He surpassed Evan Royster (3,932) to become the program’s all-time leading rusher at 3,954 yards.
This Saturday at Rutgers, Allen has the opportunity to become the first running back in Penn State history and 149th in college football history to rush for over 4,000 yards in their collegiate career.
“Fatman” averaged 6.4 yards per carry and showed his increased burst of speed during his senior year compared to the previous three, preferring himself well for the next level.
Thanks to his historic day, Allen was named East-West Shrine Player of the Week.
The East-West Shrine Bowl is a college football all-star game showcasing the best collegiate players moving on to the NFL. It’s an opportunity for players to practice and play in front of coaches and scouts, who can more familiarize themselves with draft-eligible athletes.
The win over Nebraska marked the second season Allen has surpassed 1,000 yards. Allen has rushed for 1,077 yards (5.7 AVG) and 14 touchdowns in 11 games.
He is averaging nearly 98 yards per game. Allen’s 38 rushing touchdowns are third most in program history behind Saquon Barkley and Singleton, who tied Saquon with 43 in the Senior Night victory.
The game celebrated its 100th anniversary last year after first playing in 1925. Players including Tom Brady, Walter Payton, and Roger Staubach.
The 2026 East-West Shrine Game will be played on January 27, 2026 in Frisco, Texas.
Allen was also named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week with Northwestern quarterback Preston Stone.
Penn State plays Rutgers this Saturday in New Jersey at 3:30 p.m., looking to win its sixth game and finish 6-6 to clinch a spot in a bowl game.
