Penn State Football’s Top ‘26 Commit Visiting Curt Cignetti, Indiana This Weekend

As of now, Matt Sieg is still committed to Penn State, but the school’s top Class of 2026 prospect announced Monday that is recruitment is open.

Now, we know where the four-star safety from Fort Cherry High School in the Pittsburgh Area will be visiting this week and the weeks ahead.

Pittsburgh Sports Now reported Tuesday afternoon that Sieg will be visiting Curt Cignetti and Indiana this weekend, followed by Pitt (Oct. 25), and Notre Dame (Nov. 8), and Sieg confirmed this with NSN.

All three of these schools should interest Penn State fans for different reasons. Pitt is an in-state rival, so losing Sieg to Pat Narduzzi would add salt in the wound. Notre Dame is a school Penn State fans have taken an added interest in— and vice versa— since last season’s College Football Playoff semifinal. Penn State does not want to lose recruits for Marcus Freeman.

Indiana might be the most interesting of all.

Curt Cignetti has took a program from the Big Ten cellar to a national championship contender. As a result, he’s a guy many Penn State fans want to be the program’s first coach post-James Franklin.

National Signing Day is Dec. 4, with the early signing period ending Dec. 6.
