The Class of 2027 for Penn State already has the nation’s top running back recruit and No. 1 overall recruit in Pennsylvania in running back Kemon Spell of McKeesport (McKeesport, PA), to go along with the No. 2 recruit in Pennsylvania in wide receiver Khalil Taylor of Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA), the Nittany Lions are trying to turn the triple play in the Keystone State.
For four-star Coatesville (Coatesville, PA) interior offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, the Nittany Lions are in a favorable position to secure his services.
Hiller today announced his eight finalists. Penn State will be competing with Big Ten foes Ohio State, Maryland, along with SEC powers Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and ACC’s Clemson for his services.
Penn State began to notice the ability of Hiller early in his journey with offensive line coach Phil Trautwein extending an offer to him prior to his freshman season.
Hiller measures at 6-foot-5, 295 pounds, with his stock soaring after being named MVP of the Big Man Challenge at the UA Next Future 50 at IMG Academy that was held June 26 and 27 in Bradenton, Florida.
With Hiller’s stock soaring, a five-star designation should follow the nation’s top rated interior offensive lineman per 247Sports.
Among his unofficial visits, Penn State is Hiller’s most frequent destination with 10 visits (as of this writing), with his last visit to Happy Valley coming on June 13.
Maryland (five) and South Carolina (three) have also been Hiller’s most frequent visits.
