Former Penn State receiver Julian Fleming failed his physical with the Green Bay Packers.
This development happened less than a week after Green Bay picked him up as an un-drafted free agent.
Julian Fleming Signs Undrafted Free Agent Deal with Green Bay
Marc Malkoskie of The News-Item reported Sunday that Green Bay was โnotably concerned with the 24-year-oldโs recent hip (recently re-torn) and back (bulging disks) injuries, per source.
โFleming arrived in Green Bay on Thursday, but after the Packers informed him theyโd no longer be signing him, he quickly returned home to Elysburg, golfing with some friends at Knoebelsโ Three Ponds Golf Course by mid-day Friday,โ Malkoskie wrote.
Fortunately for Fleming, he has other options.
WHERE CAN HE GO?

So where else can Fleming go? Well, per Malkoskie, Fleming has been in contact with the Ravens, 49ers and Commanders about the chance to attend their minicamps. All three minicamps are slated to begin this weekend.
Fleming is already a little familiar with the Ravens, having worked out for them not long after Penn Stateโs Pro Day, which took place March 28.

The Commanders made a Cinderella run to the NFC Championship Game last season, and although the 49ers didnโt make the playoffs, the team has gone to the Super Bowl twice in the past five years. So none of these would be bad destinations.
FLEMING IN COLLEGE

Fleming played 80% of his college football career at a rival school. The former in-state five-star from Southern Columbia High School didnโt pick Penn State right away, instead going to Ohio State, where he played four seasons.
Fleming didnโt blossom into a superstar at Ohio State the way many expected, and this was largely due to an absurd amount of talent OSU recruited at that position. In his four seasons, Flemingโs teammates in the receiversโ room included first-round picks Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson Jaxon-Smith Njigba, Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr. Fleming had his best statistical season in 2022, ending up with 533 yards and six touchdowns on 34 catches and helping Ohio State to its second consecutive College Football Playoff appearance, where it lost to Georgia in the semifinals.ย
In 2023, Fleming had 26 receptions for 270 yards and no touchdowns.
From there, Fleming transferred to Penn State, where used his last season of eligibility. He ended 2024 with 176 yards and a touchdown on 14 catches.
