Bo Beats Beau: Former Penn State Wrestling Star Falls At World Team Trials

A recent Penn State wrestling graduate took on a high school junior in the U.S. Senior World Team trials.

Unfortunately for Beau Bartlett, that high school wrestler happened to be Bo Bassett.

Bassett, the No. 2 overall recruit in the Class of 2026, only scored one point against Bartlett but that was all he needed.

Following a theme that plagued him throughout his Penn State career, Bartlett lost a low-scoring bout 1-0. The bout featured apparent confusion on Bartlettโ€™s end. After the bout, it didnโ€™t appear that Bartlett knew he had lost. A possible explanation for this is that the referee singled that Bartlett scored a step out, and the scoreboard ruled for Bassett.

Nonetheless, itโ€™s a huge win for Bassett, who committed to Iowa in February.

Bartlett wrapped up his college career in March, finishing third at NCAAโ€™s and earning his third All-America honor.
