Penn State wrestling officially has all 10 of its starters qualified for the NCAA Championships.
At 133 pounds, Braeden Davis bounced back from his quarterfinal loss to tech fall Purdue’s Dustin Norris, 17-2, to move on in the consolation bracket and punch his ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
Saturday has been a pretty good summary of Davis’ season: Up and down.
The day started off great, with a major decision over 13th-seeded Andrew Hampton of Michigan State.
In the quarterfinals, Davis was leading No. 5 Dylan Shawver (Rutgers) in the final seconds of their quarterfinal matchup.
But a late takedown put Shawver ahead 3-1, and that was enough to put him into the semifinals.
Davis will continue wrestling in the consolation bracket.
