Less than an hour after one recruiting win, Penn State got another one.
Late Friday afternoon, Jerquaden Guilford, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound WR from Northrop Bruin High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
247Sports has Guilford as the three-star recruit and the No. 3 player in Indiana.
He also had offers from schools such as Georgia, Indiana, Ohio State, Miami, Michigan State, Pitt, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
His last visit to Penn State was a recent one. Guilford was in Happy Valley for Saturday’s 44-7 win over Maryland, which punched Penn State’s ticket to the Big Ten Championship.
WHY PENN STATE?
Guilfrod talked about his experience at Penn State with Steve Wiltfong of On3Sports.
He spoke highly of head coach James Franklin and receivers coach Marques Hagans.
“I believe Coach Franklin is an outstanding coach who has brought consistency and stability to the program,” Guilford told On3. “While I understand the business side of football, he creates a genuine family atmosphere that extends throughout the coaching staff.”
“I’ve truly enjoyed working with Coach Hagans and appreciate how he didn’t just recruit me but built a meaningful relationship with me,” Guilford said. “Coach Elby has also been authentic and honest with me throughout the entire process, which I deeply respect. For me, it’s about the relationships, not just the recruiting.”
