Report: Penn State Contacts Iowa Transfer RB

James Franklin and his staff are preparing their team for the final 3 games of the season and a future date in the College Football Playoff.

But that doesn’t mean they can’t multi-task and start preparing for the future.

Pete Nakos of On3 Sports is reporting that Penn State has contacted a player already in the  Transfer Portal.

Nakos is reporting that Penn State have has initial contact with former Iowa running back Leshon Williams, who made the decision to transfer one month ago.

Last season, Williams was Iowa’s leading rusher with 821 yards, while averaging 4.8 yards per carry.

This season was a different. He entered spring football with a leg injury and that carried into the season. Because of that, Williams was limited to 11 carries and only 21 yards in just 3 games.

That coupled with the emergence of Kabel Johnson, Williams saw the writing on the wall and made the decision to leave Iowa and play his last season of college football elsewhere.

In his career at Iowa, Williams carried the ball 319 times for 1,324 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also caught 27 passes for 172 yards and 1 touchdown.
