Former Penn State guard Jalen Pickett was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Nov. 8 through Nov. 17.
Over four games of the G League’s Tip-Off Tournament, Pickett has put together averages of 26.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 9.3 assists. He has helped guide the Grand Rapids Gold (Denver Nuggets G League affiliate) to a 3-1 record over those four games, including this game-winner:

Pickett has scored the seventh most points (106) during the tournament, grabbed the eighth most rebounds (42) and dished out the fourth most assists (37).
Pickett was a transfer from Siena College after three successful seasons with the Saints. He totaled 1,139 points, 373 rebounds and 463 assists during his time in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). He was a three-time first-team All-MAAC selection winning Player of the Year in 2019-20.
During his two seasons at Penn State, Pickett tallied 1,068 points, 407 rebounds and 378 assists. In his final season, he was a consensus All-American and had a record-setting year.
He became the first Division I men’s college basketball player since 1992-93 to average 17/7/6 on 50 percent shooting. He set the Penn State single-season assist record (243), tied the Penn State single-season field goals made record (260) and earned the first points-rebounds-assists triple-double in school history.
Pickett was selected 32nd overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 draft. He has appeared in 29 games averaging 1.4 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists.
