After opening the 2024 season with an impressive win at West Virginia, James Franklin and the Penn State football program return home.
Penn State will open its home schedule with a Noon matchup against Bowling Green. Kickoff from Beaver Stadium is set for Noon and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Penn State will enter this game as a top 10 team with plenty to feel good about. That feeling and momentum will no doubt be conveyed to the high school recruits that will be traveling to State College this weekend.
Along with getting their team prepared for Bowling Green, the Penn State coaching staff is working on their inviting high school recruits to attend the game.
At this point, the list isn’t 100% complete but Nittany Sports Now does have an early list of some of the players traveling to State College  Saturday. Throughout the week, we’ll be featuring some of the top players and then we’ll provide you with a complete list on Friday.
NSN can tell you that a few current Penn State commitments are visiting such as North Catholic 2025 4-star lineman Brady O’Hara, Central Catholic 2025 3-star defensive back Xxavier Thomas, 2025 4-star athlete Braswell Thomas and 2026 3-star wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers.
TOP PLAYERS ATTENDING THE BOWLING GREEN/PENN STATE GAME:
*2026 4-star athlete Matt Sieg from Fort Cherry High School. Sieg is one of the Top 200 ranked players in the country and is the top ranked player from Western Pennsylvania in 2026. Bigger offers include Pitt, West Virginia, USC, Maryland, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, Rutgers and Wisconsin. The early sense is that Penn State is in a good spot to land Sieg.
*2027 athlete Xavier Sabb from Glassboro, New Jersey. Sabb will be a 4-star recruit and a highly recruited national recruit. As a sophomore, Sabb already holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pitt, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
*2026 4-star athlete Amari Sabb from Glassboro, New Jersey. Like his brother, Amari is a big-time recruit with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pitt, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Nittany Sports Now will continue to work on the visitors list and provide more names throughout the week.
