Nedoroscik achieved worldwide fame this past Monday. Team USA hadn’t won a team medal in men’s gymnastics since 2008, and it was up to Nedoroscik to break the cycle. He did that, and a wild celebration ensued. Six days later, he had a chance for individual glory and again delivered.
This is the first time the 25-year-old has competed in the Olympics, and he made the U.S. team as a pommel horse specialist.
Nedorosick competed at Penn State from 2016-20, winning two national titles on the pommel horse and being named an All-American in all four years. He could well have won a third national title in 2020, when he was named America’s top senior gymnast, but all national championships were cancelled due to COVID-19 taking over the world.
