All 105 is a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State football player, and this edition will look at safety-turned-receiver Mekhi Flowers.
Height: 6-feet
Weight: 180 pounds
Hometown: Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Before Penn State: Flowers came to Penn State from Central Dauphin East High School in Harrisburg, where he was a four-year captain and a state champion in 2020.
Flowers was named to the All-State team in both 2020 and ‘21 and was a semifinalist for Pennsylvania’s “Mr. Football.”
A four-star recruit, Flowers chose Penn State over schools such as Cincinnati, Kentucky, Nebraska, Pitt, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. He announced his commitment New Year’s Day, 2021.
2022: Flowers redshirted his first Penn State season, playing in two games.
Last year: Flowers played in four games, being used primarily on special teams. He assisted in a pair of tackles.
Where he stands: Flowers came to Penn State with the ability to play defense or offense. This season, he’s playing the latter. Penn State’s receiving room was the team’s weakpoint in 2023. Flowers could help things be better in 2024, which would be a big shot in the arm.
