North Carolina 2025 OL Puts Penn State in Top 5

In their recruiting Class of 2024, Penn State signed offensive tackle Eagan Boyer (6’8”, 260) from Hough High School in Cornelius, North Carolina.

A year later, the Nittany Lions program is back trying to land another offensive lineman from that state.

2025 3-star offensive lineman Michael Gibbs made the decision to narrow his list of offers down to five schools and Penn State has made the cut.

The 6’4”, 300-pounder from Hoggard High School in Wilmington, North Carolina says he’ll be deciding between Penn State, Duke, NC State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Back in January, Gibbs received his offer from Penn State and a month later, he made his first visit to State College, as he attended the programs Junior Day.

Over the last couple of months, Gibbs has taken the time to make unofficial visits to all five of his finalists.

In terms of official visits, at this time, Gibbs has scheduled ones to: Virginia Tech (June 7th), Duke (June 14th) and NC State (June 21st).

In their current Class of 2025, Penn State has commitments from 2 offensive linemen- Michael Troutman (Wayne, New Jersey) and Owen Aliciene (Avon, Connecticut).
