PSU’s Carter Starocci extended America’s longest active winning streak to 61 Friday night at Rec Hall.

Although OSU’s Rocco Welch– a true freshman ranked No. 11– put up a bigger fight than many expected, Starocci came out on top with a 4-2 decision.

Starocci is the No. 1 wrestler in the country at 174 and the overwhelming favorite to take home his fourth straight national championship.

Only five wrestlers– including Starocci’s head coach, Cael Sandrson,– have accomplished that feat, and Starocci’s teammate, Aaron Brooks, also has a chance to accomplish that this March in Kansas City.

Penn State currently leads it’s dual meet with Ohio State, 19-9. Brooks is taking on No. 22 Luke Greg at 197 in the night’s second-to-last match.
