Myles Rowser, a former four-star DB recruit who played his freshman season at Campbell in 2022, has Penn State in his top six and will be announcing his commitment Friday, May 26, at 3.
Penn State is a finalist along with Colorado, LSU, New Mexico State, Oregon and Tennessee.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder played multiple positions this past season, spending time at rover, free safety, nickel back and playing special teams as well.
Before Campbell, Rowser, a Detroit native, was a standout at Belleville High School.
Rivals had him as the No. 3 player in Michigan the No. 9 overall safety in the country and the No. 153 overall player. 247Sports had him as the No. 9 overall prospect in Michigan and the No. 33 overall safety in the country.
247Sports’ National Recruiting Analyst, Allen Trieu, described Rowser as a “very capable in the box defender who takes good angles to the ball, finds the ball well and is a very reliable tackler,” in a scouting report written when Rowser was a high school senior.
“Likes contact and is able to be in the wash,” Trieu wrote. “Flashes cover skills in game, but was not asked to do as much of that and also played on a team with good cover corners so he was not asked to play over the top of those guys. He has lined up and played man to man in camps and has shown he can do that. Has to continue to improve explosiveness and top end, but can be a complete safety because he is good in run support and has shown cover ability in camp and 7-on-7 settings.”
