Six Former Penn State players were drafted this weekend in this year’s NFL Draft. Four more players weren’t drafted but picked up priority free agent contracts this weekend. The following players are:
JONATHAN SUTHERLAND AND CHRIS STOLL, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Sutherland has played 58 games at Penn State and was a special teams ace in his time while also spending time playing safety and strong side linebacker. He recorded 24 tackles last season, mostly on special teams, and was a special teams team captain.
Stoll, the other special teams captain, was recognized as the best long snapper in the country, winning the Patrick Mannelly Award given to the nation’s best long snapper. He helped Jake Pinegar connect on 12 of 14 field goal attempts and Barney Amor to a 44.3-yard per punt average.
Both players can be immediate special teams contributors for the Seahawks.

P.J. MUSTIPHER, DENVER BRONCOS
Mustipher (6-foot-4, 318 pounds) was a big part of Penn State’s defense in 2022 at a position of question after a lower-body injury that ended his 2021 season. He recorded 38 tackles and a tackle for loss last season, starting all 13 games for Penn State. He could be a depth piece at the nose tackle or 3-4 defensive end under Vic Fangio.

MITCHELL TINSLEY, WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
Tinsley enrolled in the program before the 2022 season after a stellar career at Western Kentucky and proved that he belonged at a Power Five conference. Starting alongside now-Jacksonville Jaguar Parker Washington, he recorded 51 catches for 577 yards and seven touchdowns.
Tinsley (6-foot-1, 205-pounds) can provide further depth in a receiving corps that features Terry McClaurin, Penn State alum Jahan Dotson, Curtis Samuels, Dyami Brown, and Dax Milne and he can contribute on special teams as a punt returner.
