Sanders rushed for 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns this past season, helping the Philadelphia Eagles to Super Bowl LVII, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35.
Sanders was also named to his first Pro Bowl. Over four seasons with the Eagles, he has rushed for 3,708 yards, catching 124 passes for 924 yards and three touchdowns.
Carolina recently acquired the No. 1 pick in this years draft via trade with the Chicago Bears. The Panthers have been looking for a cornerstone piece offensively while developing a quarterback, which could be former Kentucky and Penn State QB Will Levis.
Carolina traded its number nine overall pick, along with a 2023 second-round pick with a 2024 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick, along with receiver D.J. Moore.
Sanders is expected to split carries with Chuba Hubbard, who rushed for 612 yards and five touchdowns this past season.
Sanders was a standout at Woodland Hills High School before heading to Penn State, where he rushed for 1,849 yards in his college career, playing behind Saquon Barkley for his first two years. In 2018, he rushed for 1,274 yards and nine touchdowns and made second-team All-Big Ten.
Miles Sanders impressed many people over his Penn State career, including his head coach.
“Miles is very awesome,” James Franklin said in February, days before the Super Bowl, “and we’re proud of him. He’s done really well, not just on the field and being an impact player for the Eagles, but really how he’s represented himself off the field as well.”
