Earlier in this recruiting cycle Georgia flipped two Penn State commits in offensive lineman Joshua “Dougie” Miller and wide receiver Yazeed Haynes, but turnabout is fair play Penn State is trying to do the same to Georgia.
On Monday, Daniel Harris, a Class of 2023 four-star athlete out of Gulliver Prep High School in Miami, Florida, decommitted from Georgia and now Steve Wiltfong, Director of Football Recruiting for 247Sports has made a Crystal Ball prediction in having Harris flipping his commitment to Penn State.
Harris committed to Georgia on July 1, choosing them over Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State. He is the No. 18 cornerback, the No. 37 player in Florida, and the No. 154 recruit in the country, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Scouts have already compared the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Harris to a current Penn State cornerback in Joey Porter Jr. He is a physical corner that likes to play aggressive and would fit well with Penn State defensive coordinator Manny Diaz scheme which wants its cornerbacks to play bump and run out on the perimeter. He also has the speed to keep up with wide receivers with a 10.74 100-meter dash time.
Penn State already has King Mack, Conrad Hussey, Elliot Washington, Zion Tracy, Lamont Payne, and DaKarri Nelson in the defensive back room in the 2023 recruiting cycle but adding another four-star cornerback would be a big win this recruiting cycle.
