Parker (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) is a standout at Central Phenix High School in Alabama. He became the first player from Alabama to commit to Penn State since 2014, and days later, four-star safety DaKaari Nelson (Selma) followed him.
On3Sports’ Chad Simmons reported that Parker hasn’t completely ruled out Penn State, but that it looks “increasingly likely that he will stay closer to home in the Southeast.”
Simmons also wrote that the schools who initially lost out to Penn State— Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee— have remained in close contact with Parker.
Before de-committing, Parker was Penn State’s fourth-highest rated pledge according to 247Sports. He is the sixth player overall to de-commit, joining Neeo Avery, Joshua “Doogie” Miller, Marcus Stokes, and Yazeed Haynes.
Parker is the second EDGE to de-commit from Penn State, with Avery being the first. Four-star Jameial Lyons is now the line EDGE committed in Penn State’s 2023 recruiting class.
