Philadelphia 2023 4-Star Safety Rahmir Stewart Lists Penn State As A Finalist

James Franklin has established a solid pipeline of recruiting top talent from the Philadelphia area.

Over the last few years, the Nittany Lions have landed commitments from players such as DE Jameial Lyons, LB Abdul Carter, DE Keon Wylie, DE Ken Talley and are working hard to land a stop junior defensive back.

Tuesday morning, 2023 4-star safety Rahmir Stewart, from Imhotep Charter Institute, narrowed down his offer list of 30+ schools to six and it included Penn State.

Stewart (6’0″, 185-pounds) announced a Top Six of Penn State, Oregon, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Schools that offered but didn’t make the cut were Alabama, Clemson, Florida, LSU, USC, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, Maryland, Notre Dame, Pitt, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

When speaking of Penn State, Stewart tells Adam Friedman of “It’s the hometown school and grew up on Penn State. Coach Franklin is my guy. He tells me to come up there and get a feel for the campus but I haven’t been up there for a full day of interacting with the coaches and stuff. I was there for the White Out game and a camp last year so he wants me to get the full experience.”

Stewart says that although a date hasn’t been selected yet, he will make an upcoming official visit to Penn State and plans on making his commitment sometime in September or October.
