UConn transfer Rahsool Diggins is visiting Penn State this Thursday, according to a report by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Diggins, a Philadelphia native, didn’t see much action for Danny Hurley’s squad in his freshman season, only appearing in nine games and scoring seven points total points. He enter the transfer portal March 29.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Diggins when to Archbishop Wood High School, which is the same Alma Mater as Villanova point guard Colin Gillespie, who led the Wildcats to a Final Four appearance this March. Diggins was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and had an offer from Penn State, as well as big-time programs like Kanas, Villanova and Florida.
Penn State has been looking for another guard since Sam Sessoms entered the portal last month. The Nittany Lions have point guard Kanye Clary and combo guard Jameel Brown signed to their 2022 class, but it wouldn’t hurt to have somebody with at least some college basketball experience under his belt at the point.
Diggins will have three seasons of eligibility remaining and should be immediately eligible.
