Penn State Makes the Cut for 2023 4-Star DE Dylan Gooden

The Our Lady Good Counsel High School football team in Olney, Maryland has two really talented national junior recruits.

2023 4-star defensive end Neeo Avery made a commitment to Penn State on New Year’s Eve and his teammate is also considering the Nittany Lions.

Junior defensive end Dylan Gooden (6’6″, 205) released his top eight schools and it included Penn State, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Michigan State, Maryland, Notre Dame, Miami and Tennessee. Gooden is rated as a 4-star recruit by both Rivals and 247 Sports, who rate him as one of the Top 100 juniors in the country.

Penn State was the second Division I program to extend Gooden an offer and since then, he traveled to State College for an unofficial visit for their “Whiteout Game” against Auburn.

An interesting sidenote about Gooden, is that he’s the son of former New York Mets pitching great Dwight Gooden.
