A Penn State football assistant appeared on a “Top 30 under 30” list.
The list, published by Chris Hummer of 247Sports, features PSU assistant GM Jack Griffith, who is just 29 years old.
Griffith came to Penn State this winter after three seasons at Cincinnati, where he was the Director of Player Personnel.
Before Cincy, he spent a season in the NFL, working with the New York Jets in the scouting department. Prior to that, he spent time at Ohio State (program assistant) and Villanova, where he worked while attending law school. Now, Griffith is the first assistant GM in Penn State history, as Derek Hoodjer is the first general manager.
In an interview with Cincinnati’s Bearcat Journal in November, Griffith described his approach to finding players.
“To actually have an evaluation on a player, you gotta be able to compare them to the rest of the country,” Griffith said. “That’s the importance of watching more people.
