Penn State Misses out on Class of 2027 Blue Chip

Penn State won’t land its second recruit in the Class of 2027 quite yet.

Four-star running back prospect Isaiah Rogers officially committed to Notre Dame on Monday, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals

Rogers passed on Penn State, which was one of the final four schools he was considering before making his decision.

“No place like South Bend, I’m home!” Rogers told Rivals.

Rogers chose Notre Dame over Penn State, Indiana, and Georgia. Earlier this year, Georgia landed Pittsburgh native Kemon Spell, the No. 1 running back in the class.

Four-star corner Semajay Robinson committed to Penn State on Saturday, becoming the first commit in the class.

A 5-foot-11, 205-pound athlete from Springfield, Massachusetts, Rogers was recruited by Notre Dame running backs coach and former PSU positional coach Ja’Juan Seider.

Matt Campbell’s staff re-offered Rogers on January 15 after being recruited by James Franklin.

Rogers visited Penn State twice last season during the Nevada and Oregon games, witnessing the beginning of the end for the Franklin era in the stunning White Out loss against the Ducks at Beaver Stadium.

Penn State is in the midst of spring practices, concluding with Blue-White Weekend on April 25.
