The Penn State men’s basketball team will play their final home game of the regular season on Wednesday night against Ohio State.
On Senior Night, the lone senior on the team, Josh Reed, will be honored by the Penn State Alumni Association at 7:05 p.m.
Tipoff for the game is at 7:30 p.m. and it will air live on Peacock.
The Buckeyes come into town boasting an (18-11) overall record and a (10-8) conference record.
They are coming off a huge victory after defeating No. 8 Purdue on March 1, 82-74.
OSU is led by coach, Jake Diebler, who is in his second year at the helm for the Buckeyes.
He has four players currently averaging double-digits in scoring.
6′-2″ senior guard, Bruce Thornton, leads the way averaging 20.0 points, 3.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game.
John Mobley, Jr. is a 6′-1″ sophomore guard averaging 15.3 points, 2.8 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game.
They are followed by Devin Royal, a 6′-6″ junior forward, who is scoring 14.0 ppg. and grabbing 5.6 rpg.
Christoph Tilly, a 7′-0″ senior center, rounds off the double-digit scorers tallying 11.1 ppg. and 4.8 rpg.
Penn State is also coming off a big victory when they defeated the No. 26 NET ranked Iowa Hawkeyes on February 28, 71-69.
The (12-17) Nittany Lions hope to earn their fourth Big Ten victory of the season against the Buckeyes.
Redshirt junior, Freddie Dilione V., now leads the team in scoring averaging 14.0 ppg. and is hauling down 3.3 rpg.
Rookie guard, Kayden Mingo, is the only freshman in the country averaging 13+ points (13.7 ppg), 4+ assists (4.3 apg), 3+ rebounds (3.3 rpg) and 2+ steals (2.12 spg) per game through games on March 1.
Senior Josh Reed, is averaging 11.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game and is coming off a career-high 25-point performance in Penn State’s win over Iowa last Saturday.
The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes will meet for the second time this season Wednesday night in Happy Valley.
Ohio State won the first contest on January 26 inside Value City Arena. Penn State rallied to turn an 18-point halftime deficit into a one-point game with just under 11 minutes to play, but ultimately dropped the 84-78 decision.
