Penn State and Matt Campbell has landed yet another transfer from the portal, and this one could be among the most important thus far.
After midnight Saturday morning, PSU landed a commitment from Brock Riker, who started all 12 games at center for Texas State in 2025 and was named a freshman All-American by The Athletic.
Per Pro Football Focus, Riker played 868 snaps for Texas State, which was the sixth most on the offense, but it’s worth noting that the five players who played more than him all played 13 games compared to Riker’s 12.
Texas State’s bowl game took place the same day the transfer portal opened, and Riker entered the portal that day.
Riker ended his freshman season with a pass blocking efficiency rating of 99.3, which was the highest amongst Texas State’s regulars, and had a run blocking grade of 71.5, also the highest amongst Texas State’s regulars.
Here’s what Riker posted to X for his announcement.
“Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Excited to announce I’m committed to
! Ready to grind and make an impact.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder also had offers from Alabama, Oklahoma, Illinois, South Carolina, Utah, Florida, Houston, UNC and Kansas State out of the transfer portal before picking Penn State.
Getting Riker— who, interestingly enough, went to Brock High School and is from Brock, Texas– was a coup for Texas State, since On3 rated him as a four-star and a top 25 interior offensive lineman.
